Business Ownership Exits - Issues, Strategies and Solutions
Presented by Adam Rose, Rose Law Firm, P.C.

Adam Rose will share a framework for identifying critical issues, strategies, and solutions that business owners should be considering as they navigate business ownership exit events--for themselves, their company, and their family.  He’ll talk about the pros and cons of selling to an outsider (think--competitor or private equity fund) v. selling to an insider (think--partner, key employee, family member).  Adam will approach the presentation from the perspective of how legal tools can make the process more effective at each step of the process.  Adam’s presentation will also address how lawyers, financial planners, business appraisers, CPAs, and investment bankers can work together to create great outcomes for our clients.

Learning Objectives:

  • How a detailed Ownership Transition Timeline can help you and your clients.
  • Why the Shareholder Agreement is a critical tool.
  • How to use Incentive Compensation Tools.
  • Why tax planning can make a big difference.
  • Understand the typical steps of the M&A Journey

*Approved for 1 CEU with the CFP Board.

You’ll delve into topics like:
